Warranty
We will replace or repair your mattress or a layer within it if there is more than a 10mm visible indentation or ‘sag’ in any layer, or there is any other manufacturing defect that is not a result of improper use.
Covers normal domestic use only.
Adding a protector or electric blanket on top is fine and does not void the warranty. An adjustable base is also fine if it fits the above requirements
Bed Base Requirements – A 100% latex mattress must have a firm, flat, aerated base supporting it (like ours). We require at least 1 grounded central support beam for Queens (2 for Kings), while any slats must be spaced 5cm apart or less.
With gaps between slats that are further than 5cm apart,
We have an easy fix should you wish to still use this base in a way that meets our warranty requirements:
- Simply buy 2 of these wire mesh panels from Bunnings ($20 each + $10 delivery if you wish)
- Place them under the mattress like below, where most of your body weight is
This mesh has gaps of just 2.5cm, to significantly increase the support and durability of the latex while maintaining aeration.
You can check more details on our warranty page.
Capacity: 500kg (250kg per sleeper)
When it comes to mattresses, density = durability + quality. While most ‘mattresses in a box’ use foam with a density of between 15 – 25kg/m3 (which is lucky to last a couple of years) – our latex ranges from 70 – 85kg/m3! Our quilted cover adds roughly 1-2cm of height and 2kg. Below are the dimensions and weight for a 3 layer mattress.
Single (91 x 187 cm): 37 – 39 kg
Long Single (91 x 203 cm): 40 – 42 kg
King Single (107 x 203 cm): 46 – 49 kg
Double (137 x 187 cm): 52 – 55 kg
Long Double (137 x 203 cm): 56 – 59 kg
Queen (153 x 203 cm): 55 – 57.5 kg
King (183 x 203 cm): 66 – 69.5 kg
Assembly & Care

- For maximum protection, we highly recommend a mattress protector
- The mattress cover and the latex can be spot-cleaned if necessary. Due to the Wool in the cover, it should not be washed.
Why Organic Latex?
From over 30 years of selling all different types of mattresses, here's our honest overview of the most popular mattress materials (and why we have settled on 100% natural latex).
Almost all mattresses on the market contain Polyfoams (plastic foams), sometimes a layer of Memory Foam or Latex, and sometimes these materials are on top of Springs too. However, it is important to note that each material comes in a range of qualities, but it is usually very hard to determine what quality of material is in a particular mattress (without the proper certifications and transparency).
Latex | Polyfoam | Memory Foam | Springs | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Support | Very High | Medium | N/A | Very High |
Comfort | Very High | High | Very High | N/A |
Durability | Very High | Low | Low | Medium |
Heat Retention | Low | High | Very High | Very Low |
Off Gassing | Very Low | High | Very High | Very Low |
The bottom layer/s in a mattress are designed to provide support through ‘pressure relief’, by forming a ‘cradle’ that shapes to your body profile. Latex and Memory Foam are both very good at relieving pressure by moulding around your body. Softer Polyfoams can also do this, however, are one of the biggest reasons for mainstream mattresses softening over time and forming body impressions – severely reducing the ability of the mattress to mould and support you. Springs are never used in the comfort layers because as you can imagine, they wouldn’t be very comfortable.

We are big fans of the Mattress Underground for well-researched articles and forum posts on all types of mattresses. In particular, their guide on Finding the Perfect Mattress is a very good starting point to learn more about the different materials used in a mattress, and how they are usually assembled – as well as their overviews on Support Layers and Comfort Layers. We hope you find this useful!

Your personal ‘feel’ preference is usually the most important factor. You might know you’ll like a mattress that feels plush and soft with a little more give to it – or you’ll like sleeping on something firmer. Each layer density will determine the overall feel, so having a Firm layer closer to the top will give you a more lifted, supportive feel – whereas each Medium layer would give a slightly more plush, sinking-in feel.
Side sleepers will need their hips and shoulders to sink into the mattress to contour to their body, whereas back or front sleepers need firmer support to keep their hips from sinking in too much.
This is not a strict point, but our general recommendation is if you’re under 60kg you’ll most likely prefer a softer mattress, whereas if you’re over 80kg you may suit something firmer.
Although a mattress is not a magic solution, if you do have some pain, the right firmness is important. A soft mattress can take pressure off your shoulders, a firm mattress can increase support on your back, whereas hip pain could either mean your hips are sinking in too far or not enough – and therefore you’ll likely need a mattress somewhere in the middle.
