Grown in New Zealand, our plantation Pine is a light cream to yellow colour. It contains some darker lines and natural knots for a unique look.

jarrah

Grown right here in WA, Jarrah is not found anywhere else. It has a deep reddish-brown colour and is naturally termite and water-resistant

oak

Grown in Victoria, Australia, our premium Oak is stronger and slightly browner than our Pine, with fewer knots for a consistent, smooth look.

Why timber?

When we choose sustainably and responsibly harvested timber over other materials, we reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and their consequent carbon emissions. Aluminium, steel, concrete and plastic are not produced from renewable sources. Our timber is sustainable, carbon sequestering and natural – it is actually ‘better than carbon neutral’ due to carbon stored during photosynthesis! Further, it is extremely strong, relatively lightweight and looks great!

Our 100% natural orange oil varnish is one of the most natural and healthy furniture varnishes on the market. We were after a latex mattress to replace an old innerspring one due to health concerns. Looked at heaps of different ones and the prices always seemed super expensive. We found Brett's and they were locally made, quick turnaround and well priced compared to others. Couldn't be happier.

We purchased a custom made king size marri bed from Brett's Futons, after being sadly disappointed at the lack of local timber used in bed frames from the major bed retailers. The bed frame is beautifully made and has a unique design with a central supporting beam and leg so it won't dip in the middle over time. Excellent value too, paid slightly less than the ugly ensemble bases. Would recommend this company to anyone.

We bought a queen latex mattress (firm) a year ago, and I can honestly say it's the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned. We ordered it at a busy time of year so there was a 2 week wait, but from the day we brought it home we both loved it. We both have bad backs and have had no back pain whilst sleeping since buying it...even during pregnancy I felt fully supported and never had an ache. I also love that it's natural latex covered in a layer of wool and then cotton. Not organic, but certainly a lot better than most mattresses on the market! I was a bit surprised that the cotton fabric covering it is so thin; the futon we previously owned had a really heavy calico which I did prefer. But with a good mattress protector (we use a huge wool blanket) we've not had any issues. I would definitely recommend Brett's as the best place in Perth to buy a mattress.

I bought a queen size latex/foam mattress from Brett's after he gave me detailed information and advice as I have longstanding back pain. I have slept on the mattress on my bed with slats for a few months now and I'm pleased to say that my back pain has reduced significantly and most nights I have no pain whilst sleeping.
